Adult education takes place in four distinctive ways:
- In the sermons at every service, where the preacher seeks to understand the words of scripture as they speak to God's people in today's world
- In Sunday adult classes which meet from 9:15 to 10:00 from September to May (except when there is a single, combined service)
- In our Education for Ministry (EFM) class--a nearly seminary-level, four-year program offered in conjunction with the University of the South at Sewanee, through which participants study scripture, church history, and theology
- In Monday evening classes, whose topics change seasonally--often they are Bible studies, other times they may address church history, ethics, or other issues
