The Diocese of Maine is part of the Episcopal Church; under the leadership of the Bishop of Maine, the Diocese covers the entire State. CLICK HERE to visit the Diocesan website
The Episcopal Church (USA) has dioceses and churches all over the United States and in several other countries as well, and is a constituent part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. CLICK HERE for the Episcopal Church website.
The Anglican Communion is a loose, often fractious fellowship of churches descended from the Church of England. Each constituent church is both independent of and interdependent on all the other churches of the Communion; navigating that paradox is the source of the fractiousness. Bath is a wonderful small metropolis on the shore of the deep-water Kennebec River. Anywhere else it might be a village, or even a hamlet; but because there are not that many people in Maine, and because it is the service and government center for the towns that surround us, it is fiercely proud to be the CITY of Bath. The CITY website is here: CLICK HERE
We are fortunate to participate in the National Trust for Historic Preservation's "Main Street" program, which helps small communities like Bath to maintain and develop their unique personalities. Our Main Street program is very active, and works in partnership with many organizations in town, including churches and the synagogue. Main Street Bath offers a helpful calendar of local events, further links to local resources, and the Front Street Web-cam. Their site can be found here: CLICK HERE
