Habitat for Humanity at Grace Church
What are the opportunities that await and involve us at Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine? Immediately constructing and rebuilding homes comes to mind. But that is not all: finding home sites, interviewing and supporting applicant partner families, raising money to buy what’s not donated are all bits and pieces of what volunteer helpers do. In addition, for over a year Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine has run the ReStore at the same address as the office, 108 Centre Street, Bath.
Volunteers college age to retirement ager arrive in our area and camp out in caravans or on church floors while working on new or “rebuilds” or landscape projects.
And, of course, food and fellowship are given when volunteer workers are present.
So that’s “what’s what”. As to the who’s who—look around on your right and left and you are looking at volunteers in some or all of the various Habitat niches.
For information about how to volunteer, call the church office, speak to the Rector, or look for the Sign-Up sheets in the Narthex the first Sunday of every quarter. Or stop by the Habitat Re-Store on Center Street in Bath. The ReStore also houses the Habitat administrative offices. Say hello, and you'll soon find out all that's going on in our region.
